Code of Conduct
Our Commitment
To ensure Appropedia remains an open and welcoming hub, all contributors and maintainers commit to making participation in our project and community a harassment-free experience for everyone. This commitment extends regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.
Our Principles
Positive behaviors that contribute to a welcoming environment include:
- Using language that is welcoming and inclusive
- Respecting different viewpoints and experiences
- Accepting constructive criticism with grace
- Prioritizing what is best for the community
- Demonstrating empathy towards other community members
Unacceptable behaviors include:
- Sexualized language or imagery and unwelcome sexual attention or advances
- Trolling, insulting/derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
- Harassment in public or private
- Publishing others’ private information, such as physical or electronic addresses, without explicit permission
- Any other conduct deemed inappropriate in a professional setting
Our Responsibilities
Project maintainers are tasked with clarifying acceptable behaviors and are expected to take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to instances of unacceptable behavior.
They also have the authority to remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, and other contributions not aligned with this Code of Conduct, or to ban temporarily or permanently any contributor for behaviors deemed inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.
Scope
This Code of Conduct is applicable in all project spaces and public spaces when an individual is representing the project or its community. This includes using an official project email address, posting via an official social media account, or acting as an appointed representative at events, either online or offline.
Enforcement
Reports of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be made by contacting the project team at info@appropedia.org. All complaints will be reviewed and investigated, resulting in a response that is deemed necessary and appropriate to the circumstances. The project team is committed to maintaining confidentiality for the reporter of an incident. Details of specific enforcement policies may be posted separately.
Maintainers who do not follow or enforce the Code of Conduct in good faith may face temporary or permanent repercussions as determined by the project’s leadership.
